Omg anime😭 I absolutely love it, I have a few recommendations based on genres
Psychological
Terror in Resonance - 11 eps
Death Parade - 12 eps
Wonder Egg Priority - 13 eps ; I love this one but sole aspects may be triggering so a warning in advance
91 Days - 13 eps
Psycho Pass - 3 seasons and a few movies ; some people I recommended it to found it a bit slow in the beginning so I'd say give it 3 eps to see if it's for you :)
Devilman Crybaby - 10 eps ; ik this one has mixed feelings but I personally loved it, another warning as it gets a bit crazy
Tokyo Ghoul - 4* Seasons ; loved this as a kid it's 4* because there are 2 re seasons so technically those are 3 and 4 but people have some issues with it in terms of lining up with the manga but I'll say it's still a good watch
Attack on Titan - 3 seasons; an og, literally grew up on this it was something I loved
Angel of Death - 16 eps
Vampire Anime - I've seen several (I love vampire things but I'll just rec 2 :) )
Black Butler - 4 seasons and a few movies ; Love Love love, another one I grew up on and was absolutely obsessed which helped shaped my aesthetic growing up lol
Seraph of the End - 2 seasons, another one I grew up on. It's literally childhood friends but God Serene the relationship between them genuinely hurts
Miscellaneous
Piano no Mori/ Forest of Piano - 2 seasons; this has a special place in my heart as a Piano player for literally my entire life but its so sweet imo
Neon Genesis Evangelion- 2(?) seasons ans a bunch of movies ; I love shows that have a weird religious undertone so this does it for me, Shinji does a weird thing at some point as a bit of a warning
Banana Fish- 24 eps ; Crime + gay, I watched it when it came out and it just hurts, I love it
Bungo Stray Dogs - 5 seasons; series based on book authors (not in the way you think) but it's a fav of mine
Given - 1 season; absolute tears like I can throw up thinking about it, it's so gay and hurts my heart I love it
The Apothecary Diaries - 24 eps; took me by surprise! based in historical China I believe but it was enjoyable to me, I love it
Sports
Haikyuu!! - 4 seasons ; this showed when I was growing up but I only watched it during covid😭 It made me appear volleyball more
Free!!! - 3 seasons ; swimming anime I watched as a kid I love it
Yuri on Ice - 1 seaon; ice-skating, super cute and had my heart as a kid in 2016 :(
SK8 the infinity - 1 season; who knew a skating anime could be so fun
Movies
A Grave of Fireflies - tears in my eyes
Any Studio Ghibli Film tbh
Angel's Egg - Weird niche movie i love from 1895
Belladonna of Sadness - Girlboss from 1973 (a warning for this but it's great)
I want to eat your pancreas - :((
Kimi No Na Wa - Had a chokehold on me as a kid
Weathering with you - it's so cute :((
These are all my recs for now (I am genuinely so sorry for how long it is) but if you do watch any I'd love to hear your thoughts :) ♡
oh my god this is a LENGTHY list!! heheh i feel so honored to be sent this omf >_< im screenshotting it and putting in my notes!! i really love all things psychology so those might be the ones i check out first !!

So I see you’ve watched Sk8 the infinity! I’m glad you seem to enjoy it! I know you really love Lange and Reki, but is it alright if I ask you about your thoughts on the other characters? Like Cherry, Joe, Shadow, Miya, Adam, Snake, etc?
I remember watching that show when ep 11 came out and I had a brain rot about that show for MONTHS! So glad Season 2 has been announced!
Season 2's been announced?
Damn I be making great timing lol.
Sure of course it's alright to ask.
Ima just get this out the way, I hate Adam. I hate him. I can sympathise with his back story. And I find his past with Joe and Cherry intresting.
But man everytime he's on he's onscreen I am uncomfortable.
I'm glad he regained his love for skating but dear god stay away from these kids.
Snake, I don't particularly like him. But I find him and his motivations intresting. The insight he has into Adam and who he is, the fact he's his mentor in a way.
His entrance into S was amazing. I like how his conversation with Reki helped Reki realise his passion for skateboarding.... Really wish he hadn't taken him into a love hotel for that conversation though.
Cherry is great. I may have geeked over Carla a wee bit, I think Carla as a concept is so cool.
I love how Cherry tries to exude this image of refinement and prestigue... That gets immediately destroyed when Joe shows up.
I love the bond they have, I'd like to know more about their past. I absolutely get why Cherry wanted to race Adam and holyshit that race.
Joe is great. I love how both of them are mentors to the kids, but especially Joe. Seeing him reach out to Reki when he was at his lowest, because he understands is great.
Because as much as they try to paint Joe as a "simple minded gorilla" he's got a ton of heart and he's very smart. And I like that Cherry knows that, I just love seeing them interact and bicker.
May be starting to ship Joe and Cherry.
I love Miya. Miya is definitely one of my favourite characters. He's such a little nerd. I love seeing him with everyone else because you know he's having fun.
There's something to be said that Adam could've become Miya if he regained or never lost Joe and Cherry.
Miya is everyone's snarky little brother, seeing him open up and have friends is just great. When he convinced those women that Joe was his dad and Cherry was his mum 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.
Absolutely broke my heart when he told Reki he was breaking his promise to him.
Because it shows how much Reki and the others mean to him, he's afraid of losing them. I don't blame Miya or Shadow for their involvement in that.
Was it mean? Yes, but I think they'd have stopped if they knew how much it was affecting Reki.
Because they've made jokes like this at each other constantly and everyone was okay with it. I think they'd regret it if they knew.
I absolutely love Shadow. Shadow went from the enemy to stressed out single parent and we love to see it.
He didn't adopt these kids, they signed the papers and showed up at his house.
He's a great rep for alt people, looks scary but is soft on the inside. His crush on his co-worker is adorable, I love that his day job is as a florist it's sweet.
I love that for all he says he truly cares about them.
And not on the list but Manager Oka, love him. I love how he's always keeping an eye on Reki and Langa. His talk with Reki after the fight, I like him he's good.
Apologises this was quite long 😅.

SK8 Pronouns Reference Sheet
here's a little project i've been working on the last few days: a reference chart for all the first- and second-person pronouns the eight main sk8 guys use! this is based on the official japanese release of chill out and my own listening to the anime, so disclaimer that i may have missed a line!
the ones highlighted in yellow are cases where the character was included in a group that was referred to with "omaera" (plural form of "omae") but hasn't been referred to with "omae" one-on-one. boxes that are empty completely are cases where the character's never (to the best of my knowledge) referred to the other character with a second-person pronoun (or their name in the same grammatical function.)
also, this is based on what the characters normally use! there are exceptions:
- miya refers to langa with "kimi" in one line (when he says "your friend will become a dog because of you") but always uses his name once they're friends
- adam switches to "ore" for himself in a couple scenes only with tadashi, when he's particularly talking down to him (he otherwise always uses "boku", including when he's talking to himself and in his own thoughts, so the use of "ore" in those lines is definitely a deliberate affect)
- adam calls reki "omae" right after the episode 11 beef ("do you think a nothing like you really put up a successful defense?")
- adam refers to joe and cherry with "omaera"/"omaetachi" in the high school flashbacks, meaning he talked with them more like reki and langa talk to each other when they were all teenagers :') (he does, however, use "kimi" with the unnamed boy he skates with on the cliff in ep 8!)
- shadow uses "boku" for himself at work to be more polite/professional around his manager (cherry almost certainly uses more polite language in his day job but he doesn't use any pronouns in the scenes we see)
this was a labor of love and autism, i hope this is useful or at least interesting to others!

You know, watching episode 11 of bucchigiri, it was very difficult to see Zabu being beaten like that, poor thing. I wonder how they are going to end this story with just one episode, there are a lot of meaningless things I think I only see three alternatives. 1. an open ending with Matakara and Arajin making peace but going their separate ways (matakara) and maybe a 2nd season with arajin trying to get him to be a honki again. 2. Matakara and Arajin don't make peace and are murdered like Senya and Ichiya and they turn into geniuses and try to fight again like Senya and Ichiya. 3. For me, I most wanted Matakara's brother not to die and return and save Matakara from ruin. What worries me in the end is how they are going to make an acceptable and good ending for Matakara because he did a lot of bad things. What worries me are the consequences. sorry for the text.
Hey anon, thanks for the message! (excuse me for the slow reply)
Zabu getting the piss beaten out of him was definitely one of the most painful (and brutal, I'd argue) fights to watch (so far. 1 ep to go...). Though I don't really agree with the idea that this show had a lot of meaningless things (besides ep 7...), but I see where you're coming from.
I've been thinking a lot about the possible endings too, and after mulling it over a lot, here's my guess; They have a big fight reminiscent of the one Ichiya and Senya had in the past. Senya mentioned in one of the first eps how he never actually became a Honki person, but came the closest out of anyone. I think that fight might've been the final thing those two needed to really become Honki. This, however, didn't happen because of multiple reasons;
The most important bit is that Senya didn't go all out, which is what ended up pissing Ichiya off and making him hold a grudge against Senya. I think this grudge is what made Ichiya become a majin, and Senya's wish to reconcile is what made him a majin in turn (they didn't quite explain this in the show but this makes the most sense to me). Why Senya didn't go all out could have a multitude of reasons, which I'm not getting into rn because this post is already very long.
But back to the final fight. Matakara has Ichiya and Arajin has Senya, and it's been heavily implied that they're gonna get their bodies taken over, either willingly (Arajin, now determined to save Matakara) or through manipulation (Matakara, consumed by the darkness he was trying desperately to flee from). If this show continues with following the Disney version of the Aladdin tale, there must be some sort of wish-fulfilment freedom at the end for the genie(s). This fight will finally be the all out no-holds-barred brawl that Ichiya wanted, and Senya will be able to face him again so he can find out why Ichiya was so mad at him. It's also a chance for Arajin and Matakara to finally throw their frustrations out into the open, and hopefully finally see and hear each other for real. But I also think that the fight will turn them into Honki people. This would not only fulfil the promise between Ichiya and Senya, but also the one between Arajin and Matakara.
Other than that, I have no clue how they're gonna wrap up the rest, or what kind of consequences there will be at the end... or if there will even be consequences. If you've seen SK8 (anime by the same director) you might remember how a certain character was about to be in deep shit, but the power of friendship stopped him right before the damage would be irreversible. I think it'll be the same here.
Sorry if it's not exactly what you discussed, but this is the only ending I could imagine, honestly. And as for Matakara's brother, I've had this hunch that he didn't actually die, since permadeath is such a rare occurrence in these types of animes, and fakeouts are a plenty. But even if he is still alive, the show has made itself clear; it's up to Arajin to save Matakara now.

i have the audience of one @firedragon1321 so here's my thoughts on reki and tai
so this is assuming sk8 the infinity takes place in the time of its release of 2021.
my bois can relate to so much stuff and this is why i kin them
1 ) being older brothers
these bois love their younger sister(s) and would want them to be in their life for the longest time but dont know how to say it
2) but wait... that happened to you too? hahaaaaaa so ep 48 and all that Hospital Trauma... its not like it happened to reki with in a similar degree, right? wrong. its awkward but they're only telling that to people they Really Trust. (koushiro and langa) they dont know that until reki talks about the Root Cause
3) being overwhelmed by Emotion and being too reactive or unable to act
in 02, we see tai be a really good mentor to the new batch of digidestined. literally Dad Friend Mode. Now that he would be older, he would try to be a good mentor to the areas in Japan that may not have a strong digidestined force.
reki is just Stressed. with S and being a Chosen Child (and oh man thats a big deal) being secrets he keeps to himself, he doesnt know how to juggle it.
tai says its not easy, obviously, but as long as you keep your inner child then you'll be with your partners as long as you live.
"i want to skate infintely with you!"
jump skip to when that happens and then reki tells the secret that hes a digidestined to langa. reki's d3 glows and oh hey look langa has a digimon now. and then to the S crew, bc if he's keeping his inner child and being himself in the long run, its gotta stay with them.
he contacts tai and he's proud. but also asks if its ok to visit S for a night. to make sure hes safe.
tai sees adam and makes a flat 'what.'
one, he looks like the digimon kaiser. which is what an 11 year old dressed himself with. and also. thats his coworker. he worked with him.
#its such a funny concept#and look adam looks like kaiser he has the shoulder pads and eyewear#tai sends it to the gc with the 99 and 02 kids and says 'come to okinawa we have a discount 11 yr old ken' and they all reply with -_-#look they are My Boys#but theyre also the reason that i realized im not that fine#taichi yagami#reki kyan#digimon crossover#sk8 the infinity crossover

Time for Episode 5 of SK8 the Infinity!
I'm so deep in Buddy Daddies rn that all I could think about during this scene was Kazuki and Kyuu in Episode 11, lol
It's nice that Reki's got a trusted adult he can go to!
Yahoo! The gang's all here!
But phew, the way Reki broke S' code by hollering at Cherry? CHILD. PLEASE.
Really now, Reki... where's your Sengoku Era knowledge?
This is quite a dreamy scene, you know? Just the way the lighting is set up, the darkness of the neach, Reki and Langa having this conversation (which ends up hurting Langa a lot); it's really pretty stunning in terms of the emotional weight. And, phew, SK8 really fills me with so much wanderlust.
I guess I don't have much to say about Ep. 5? Poor Reki was nervous as heck Langa's showdown against Adam was cut short.
